On the margins of the Second Eurasian Women's Forum in St. Petersburg, an Agreement on Cooperation between the Federation Council and the Senate of the Parliament of Equatorial Guinea was signed by the heads of the upper chambers of the parliaments of the two countries, Valentina Matvienko and Maria Teresa Efua Asangono. They also discussed the issues of bilateral relations and prospects for interparliamentary cooperation.

"The interlocutors noted that the strengthening of interparliamentary relations will promote the further development of bilateral relations in the political, economic, scientific and cultural spheres, the expansion of relations between the regions of the Russian Federation and the provinces of Equatorial Guinea," the press service of the Federation Council reported.
