The Chief of the Russian General Staff met in Moscow with the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea

On October 29, 2019, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, army General Valery Gerasimov, discussed the issues of cooperation between the two countries with the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue.

Today's meeting in Moscow was the result of agreements between the presidents of Russia and Equatorial Guinea on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit held on October 24 in Sochi.

“In development of this meeting and on behalf of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, I am ready to discuss with you topical issues of bilateral cooperation of mutual interest”, - said Valery Gerasimov.

He noted the traditionally friendly nature of relations between the countries and thanked Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue for his efforts to restore stability in the African region.

“I hope that your delegation’s visit to Russia will contribute to the further comprehensive development of relations between our countries and the defence departments”, - said the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.

In turn, the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea thanked the Russian side for the warm welcome.
