On 2 November 2023, H.E. Vladimir PUTIN, President of the Russian Federation, and H.E. Teodoro OBIANG NGUEMA MBASOGO, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, who arrived in Russia on an official visit, held talks in Moscow.

“Russia’s relations with Africa have been expanding quite rapidly as evidenced by the outcomes of the Russia–Africa Summit held in St Petersburg earlier this year. We are pleased to see our ties with Africa recovering and expanding”, – noted H.E.Vladimir PUTIN.
“Obviously, Russia is a traditional and strategic partner of Equatorial Guinea and the African continent. And we should bear in mind that Russia contributed and fought for the liberation of African states in order for them to achieve independence.
